Care That Listens. Healing That Makes Sense.
🌿 ABOUT — The Mending Tree
Care That Listens. Healing That Makes Sense.
If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’ve already tried a lot.
You’ve followed the advice.
Done the exercises.
Shown up for the appointments.
And yet… something still doesn’t feel right in your body.
Maybe the pain keeps returning.
Maybe it’s shifted, but never fully resolved.
Or maybe you’ve been told everything looks “normal”—even though it doesn’t feel that way to you.
At The Mending Tree, I work with people who are ready for a different kind of conversation with their body—one that finally begins to make sense.
🌿 A Different Way of Understanding the Body
I don’t believe your body is broken.
I believe your body is adapting, protecting, and communicating—often in ways that haven’t been fully understood or addressed.
Myofascial Release is a gentle, intentional approach that works with the body’s connective tissue system to:
Unwind long-held tension
Restore natural movement
Support nervous system regulation
Create space for true healing
This work is not about forcing change.
It’s about listening carefully and responding with precision.
🌿 My Story
I didn’t come to this work by accident.
Like many of the people I now work with, I’ve seen what it’s like when the body isn’t responding the way it “should.”
When the answers aren’t clear.
When the usual approaches don’t quite get to the root of what’s going on.
Over time, I became less interested in quick fixes—and more interested in why the body holds on to tension, pain, and patterns in the first place.
That curiosity led me deeper into the study of fascia, the nervous system, and the body’s ability to adapt and protect.
And what I found changed everything.
I began to see that the body isn’t random.
It’s not working against us.
It’s incredibly intelligent—responding to injury, stress, and life experiences in ways that make sense, even when they’re uncomfortable.
When you take the time to listen to it—really listen—
it starts to shift.
That understanding is what shapes every session I offer.
🌿 What It Feels Like to Work Together
Every session at The Mending Tree is individualized.
There are no routines. No rushing. No one-size-fits-all plans.
Instead, I take time to:
Understand your history and patterns
Follow the body’s cues
Work slowly and intentionally into areas of restriction
Help you recognize what your body is telling you
Many clients tell me this is the first time they’ve felt:
Truly listened to
Fully supported
Able to relax without bracing
That matters. Because healing happens best when your body feels safe.
🌿 What This Means for You
When you come to The Mending Tree, you’re not walking into a routine.
You’re stepping into a space where:
Your experience is taken seriously
Your body is approached with curiosity, not assumptions
Nothing is forced or rushed
This work is about creating the conditions for your body to let go of what it’s been holding—often for a long time.
And when that begins to happen, things change.
Not all at once.
But in ways that are real, lasting, and meaningful.
🌿 Training & Background
My work is shaped by more than three decades of hands-on experience with the body.
I’ve been a licensed massage therapist for 30 years, with the last 15 years dedicated to myofascial release. Before that, I spent 20 years working alongside physical therapists at UW Health, supporting patients through chronic pain, injury recovery, spine conditions, and rehabilitation—including aquatic therapy.
I also bring 15 years of experience as a yoga instructor, along with my role as a licensed health and wellness coach. In addition to one-on-one care, I teach weekend fascial retreats and workshops, helping people learn how to support their own bodies with greater awareness and confidence.
Together, these experiences allow me to see the body from multiple perspectives—and to approach each client with both skill and care.
🌿 Let’s Begin, Gently
You don’t need to have all the answers before you begin.
You don’t need to be certain this will work.
You just need to be open to a different approach—one that honors the complexity of your body and your experience.
If you’re ready to explore what’s possible—with support, clarity, and care—I’d be honored to work with you.

✨ Final Thought (Optional Closing Line)
Your body isn’t something to fight.
It’s something to understand—and, over time, come back home to.

“I learned a great deal about myself”
“I was so well cared for on so many levels! Deidre was concerned about me not slipping on ice and met me outside. She listened to what I thought I needed from the treatment and then gave her input, applied her vast experience and knowledge giving me a most wonderful experience. I learned a great deal about myself, my post-surgical experience, things I can do to improve. I received such a great hands-on, intuitive treatment. It just doesn’t get much better than this! I’m coming back!”
